Blackmore Park,
Malvern

Blackmore Park is a long established employment site located south of Malvern.  Historically an WWII American hospital, many of the buildings were subsequently used for employment purposes whilst others were demolished, reducing the size of the site considerably.

In 2001 outline planning permission was granted for the redevelopment of the reduced size area for B1, B2 and B8 purposes, leaving much of the rest of site in low key agricultural use, together with some caravan storage areas.

Stansgate was engaged to promote the allocation of additional land to expand Blackmore Park.  Whilst an established business park, it lies in a largely rural area with limited public transport, is visible from the Malvern Hills National Landscape area, and had various ecological and drainage issues.

Following detailed submissions and an appearance at the Examination in Public, Stansgate secured the allocation of a 4.5 hectares extension to Blackmore Park in the now adopted South Worcestershire Development Plan (2016). Detailed planning permission was subsequently granted for the erection of business units.

A review of the South Worcestershire Development Plan commenced in 2017 and Stansgate were instructed to seek a further extension to Blackmore Park.  Submissions were made to both the SHELAA (Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment) and the various drafts of the Development Plan, and discussions held with the Strategic Planning Team.  The submissions achieved a draft allocation of a further 4.8 hectares in the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review, which is currently at examination.
