Leamington Spa
Situated in the heart of Leamington Spa this site accommodated a single storey hut used by a local army cadet unit, a smaller brick storage building and parking for many cars.

The site was entirely out of keeping with the surrounding regency style development, several storeys high, and the owner sought to maximise development with enhanced cadet facilities.
Working closely with Warwick District Council’s conservation team, and architects Indigo Brain, this project took many months of negotiation however planning permission was ultimately granted for a fantastic looking modern development which reflects the Regency properties surrounding it. With an enlarged cadet facility in the basement and apartments on three floors above and in the roof the scheme will enhance the character and appearance of the immediate locality and provide much needed accommodation in a central Leamington location.
As well as heritage matters, noise, access, parking and overlooking all presented difficulties but with a strong team of specialists, and a client who understood the issues, Stansgate was able to achieve a much deserved positive outcome.
